Our Miqlat potlucks

The Miqlat family shares quite a lot of fun moments. Our work is demanding, tough and brain stroming, but we make a conscious effort to make time to have fun, relax, share, and encourage. We cannot wffort a very expensive outing, so we share our food and lives through potlucks. This is one such moment when we not only enjoy eating but also enjoy fellowshipping together.

7 October 2008 Prayer Request
- Praise God for the way He has led Miqlat thus far and also for His unending provision.
- Praise God for the increase of staff. This has boosted our spirits to take greater risks and responsibilities.
- Praise God for opening ways for Hiayale to go to Cambodia for exposure and internship. She is now in Phnonh Phenh, Cambodia staying with two Naga missionaries Acivo and Vikeyieno. Please continue to pray for her well being, health and also needs as she stay there.
- Praise God for the wonderful trip I was able to make this July and August to Europe and all the opportunities I got to share about Miqlat and the wonderful works that God is doing in and through Miqlat. Thank you so much for your prayers and support.
- Pray for Ricky, one of our outreach worker whose father passed away on the 28th of July and for which she has to take a break for this year to take care of her old ailing mother.
- One of the most urgent need of Miqlat now is the need for shelter. So many of our women are homeless and many are in homes where the environment is not at all safe. But since we don’t have a place to keep them, we just have to let them live the risky life they are living now. Having a home for the women is going to help so many lives at risk and also enhance the growth of Miqlat Ministry. We truly covet your prayers for this matter. If God willing we want to have a place by the beginning of next year.
- Pray that God will open more people’s heart to see the needs and respond to it. Especially, many of the staffs whose salary is supported by different individuals, families, and friends are only till December. But we cannot just drop them off like that. Please pray that God will open some other source for salary.
- Pray for the outreach team that we will continue to serve God with zeal and passion and also pray for mutual understanding, co-operation and unity among the staffs.
- Pray for the women secretary Ms. Narola, the Miqlat Board and for me and Haiyale for God’s wisdom upon us as we take the lead and also pray that we will all understand the heart of God and share the common vision to voice out for the voiceless. Pray that we will be courageous to stand and speak for the truth and not be carried away by the things of the world.
- Pray for the well being and good health of our Dr. Yanthan as he selflessly renders voluntary service to Miqlat.
Most of all, pray for those lives that has drop in to Miqlat that they will open up their hearts to be honest and to understand and accept the forgiveness and healing and the unending love of God in their lives.
- We need more people who are passionate and have the heart for this ministry for outreach work. Pray that God will send people and fill the gaps in His best time.
- Please pray for Miqlat vehicle project. We are really in need of a car now.

22 June 2008 Prayer Request
Well, with so many good things happening, there are also many heart-breaking stories. Of late,
- God has been blessing Miqlat and so many women have been streaming in almost every day hungry and thirsty for God, and also looking for a better choice and alternatives for their lives. I’ve been receiving a call almost every night from one woman with whom we have been dealing for quite sometime, but it's very hard to talk and convince her. So in a way, we kind of let go of her praying that God will speak to her in His own time. And lo (surprisingly) she started to call saying she is fed up with the kind of life she is living. She wants to change, she wants to become good, and live a good dignified life. She then pleaded me to help her in this transition. What do you expect me to say or do??? At first I thought this is not new…these kind of incidents keeps occurring, but then I realized this case is different. She is truly desperate. She told me, her body can’t take it anymore and that she is too tired to allow inhumane men to play with her body.
- She also stated that she has moved to a safer and cleaner place. This is truly amazing for she is someone who is fully into this trade and she is known as an “old Khilari”which means “old timer”. Now all she needs is a job that will enable her to meet the daily needs. This is urgent but her body needs rest and she needs time to adjust with the normal life.
- In the mean time, the problem is who will provide for her during the recovery process, We want to, but we are also struggling with so many needs and problems as an organization. We can’t just leave her like that!
Will you please take time to pray for her and her situation? We are also facing problems with women who are giving birth yet they don’t have the money to bear the hospital cost, so they are selling away their babies to whoever bears the cost. Doesn’t this sound so heartless and inhumane? This is the kind of people that we deal with everyday and therefore we really need God’s wisdom and strength to make the best decision and also to speak out the right words and for which we truly covet your prayers. |

| 29 May 2008 Prayer Requests
- Praise God for His provision, protection and guidance thus far.
- One of Miqlat’a target is to cover all the churches in Dimapur this year. Many have responded and we have visited them but still many are yet to respond. Pray that God will speak to their hearts and remind them about Miqlat so that they will respond too.
- Miqlat is undertaking a very interesting and challenging project...Miqlat cafeteria. So far we have no solid source but by faith we want to start it. It is our deepest desire that this cafeteria will be in full swing by June and for which we need so much of your support, prayers and encouragement. Honestly, we are just going to start by faith and so your contribution and support will be highly appreciated. In the materialization of this cafeteria, there is a possibility for about 15 women to be out of the sex trade and get the opportunity to live a good normal life so we don’t want to miss that chance. Will you please take time to pray with us and for us in making this dream and the dream of these women a reality????
- For a very long time, we lost contact with one of our clients. Just recently we found out that she has been out of touch because she has sold even her mobile phone to treat her husband who is lying on his dead bed. Only bones and skin hangs on his body now. Will you please pray for this particular client family? She has seven children, of which one is disabled and she is the bread earner of the family. Her name is Toshili. We trust you and so we also trust that you will remember this family in your conversation with our Heavenly Father.
- Ms. Rikeng who is one of the outreach workers is on leave for a month due to health complications. We are few in number so her absence in so many ways affects our ministry. Please pray that God will give her relief and that she will experience God’s healing touch early and will join us soon healthy and refreshed.
- Continue to pray for the needs of Miqlat ministry, the needs of the staff and also God’s wisdom upon us as we deal with lives each day.
-
And as always continue to pray for us as we take the frontline knowing that the battle belongs to God.
